Pitboss13 Owner Interview
Time to get to know pitboss13, owner of the New Orleans Lumpies in the AL South. boss has played 300 seasons of HBD and been able to come away with 6 WS titles. As he gets settled in, we’ll start our interview with:
“boss, what part of the country do you live in?”
“I retired to Northern Nevada about 40 miles east of Lake Tahoe.”
“What’s your favorite team and when did you start following them?”
“Growing up in LA, I was a Dodger fan, however, but they were closely followed by the Milwaukee Braves.”
“So, who was your favorite player growing up.”
“I played 3B in LL, so I wanted to be the next Eddie Matthews. Sadly, I fell a bit short…. of course when I say a bit, I may be off by a little.”
“What would you consider your favorite baseball memory.”
“Being old has its advantages. My first two MLB games were the Roy Campanella tribute game, which at the time was the highest attended game in history, and the 1959 All Star game that had the likes of Williams, Mantle, Mays, Musial, Aaron, et al. However, my favorite memories are of Sandy Koufax toeing the rubber at his best.”
“How many teams are comfortable running?”
“With the time to do so, I like to have 5 teams. Although mediocrity seems to be my goal.”
“How do you like to build your teams?”
“My favorite teams have power and pitching.”
“What is your favorite aspect of HBD?”
“I’d say it’s the owner interaction. I especially enjoy the banter in most leagues (even the jerks).”
“What about the harassment between torrone and myself?”
“Well…. Lol”
“What’s the thing you’d most like to change about the game?”
“As for changes, I’d like to see better draft coverage. The top 25 or so prospects should be seen by anyone with a budget for it.”
“Thanks pitboss, I appreciate you taking the time to let us get to know you.”
