Owner Interview - torrone

Owner interview with torrone

“I’ve been looking forward to getting you in the hot seat, torrone.  For those of you unaware, torrone has been around for 67 of Addicted Users 71 seasons, showing his allegiance to this his first HBD world.  In total he has played 182 seasons with a WS trophy resting on his mantle.  Let’s see what we can learn about him.”

“torrone, what part of the country do you call home?”

“I'm from Long Island.  Born and bred my whole life.”

“What is your favorite team and when did you start following baseball?”

“Yankees in 1960.  Devastated by their loss to the Pirates.”

“Who was your favorite player growing up?”

“Mickey Mantle, bar none.”

“You and my mother would have had an interesting debate then, you’ll see why when my interview posts.”

“Do you have a favorite baseball memory?”

“The Chambliss HR in '76.  I was in the upper deck behind home plate.  But my real fave was in the late 60's.  My dad took me and my brother to Bat Day, a Sunday doubleheader. Dad had a few, and had fallen asleep in his seat during the 2nd game.  Some kid dropped his bat, and it slid down thru the seats, picking up speed until it smacked my Dad right in the back of the head.  A rude awakening.”

“That may get the award for funniest baseball memory in our group.”

“How did you find HBD?”

“Honestly don't remember.  Not unusual.  Don't remember much of anything these days.”

“What is the max number of teams you can run?”

“3”

“In what manner do you like to build your teams?”

“Used to look for all-around types, but that didn't work.  Now I'm leaning towards power.  I would love a team with great pitching, but I've never had one.”

“Do you have a favorite HBD team, past or present?”

“My 1st and original.  Right here in AU.”

“What is your favorite aspect of HBD?”

“I like the banter.  A vibrant WC is important to a thriving league.”

“Is there anything that you would like to see changed about HBD?”

“I like the game fine.  Little quirks pop up now and then that can be annoying, but they are not deal breakers.  I'd like Dev to be transparent about what their plans are.”

“Well, it seems you survived without any issues.  I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions.”
